Beyond the Stage: Standing With Survivors
We are looking forward to you joining the Highline College Foundation at our inaugural evening of our new COMMAND PERFORMANCE SERIES where we are also recognizing October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
We will reaffirm our commitment to stand with survivors---ALWAYS.
Before our headliner crime listening panel, we will highlight the great work of:
---Highline College Women’s Programs whose primary goal is to promote student success by creating an accessible, welcoming, safe environment for all prospective and current students.
Services focus on empowering students through individualized care to build their confidence, affirm their readiness to succeed, academic advising, college navigation, career exploration, life skills and referrals to non-academic resources on-and off-campus.
---Lighthouse NW, a domestic violence service in Des Moines that provides space for women and children to heal ….and help break the cycle of domestic abuse.
---Soroptimists International Seattle South (SISS) which incredibly supports the Hospitality House in Burien and two other confidential women’s shelters in South King County and raises money for scholarships for HC students.
---Highline College Nursing Programs who make great impacts in promoting women’s health.
---Highline College Legal Studies and Criminal Justice programs.
Remember: your ticket supports the Highline College Foundation and the organizations it partners with to support families who have experienced -or ARE experiencing- domestic violence in our community!
